The "Forward Laser Setup & Maintenace" training presentation encompassed the following agenda:

  • Review of optical components and their impact on system performance
  • Setup considerations and procedures for various architectures
    • Direct fed 1310 Tx
    • Long haul 1550 Tx

SCTE Live Learning IPv6 & CCNA Security Print E-mail
Written by Eric Heitz
Wednesday, 23 February 2011 09:10

SCTE Live Learning has 2 courses in March 2011.

3/16 - Migration to an IPv6 Infrastructure

If you are unable to attend the SCTE Northern California Vendor Day March 16th-17th SCTE Live Learning is presenting Migration to an IPv6 Infrastructure.  The course is free to members of the SCTE; non-members can pay for attendance.

In this highly anticipated SCTE Live Learning event, Cisco will provide an update to ARIN's IPv4 address pools along with a brief review of the fundamentals of IPv6 and the technologies behind this next generation protocol.  Participants will be provided with a high level overview of the industry's IPv6 transition techniques such as DS-Lite, 6RD, tunneling, NAT 444, etc.  In addition, the session will cover some of the cable operator's challenges with transition, provisioning, name resolving and security as well as a brief look at subscriber CPE and CE availability for IPv6.  We'll conclude with a discussion of the ways the cable industry will support World IPv6 Day.

3/21-3/27 - CCNA Security

CCNA Security introduces the core security concepts and skills needed to install, troubleshoot, and monitor a network to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices. This course is a career-oriented e-learning solution with an emphasis on practical experience to help students develop specialized security skills, along with critical thinking and complex problem solving skills. Students develop an in-depth, theoretical understanding of network security principles as well as the tools and configurations available.  The course emphasizes the practical application of skills needed to design, implement, and support network security. Packet Tracer simulation-based learning activities promote the exploration of networking security concepts and allow students to experiment with network behavior and ask "what if" questions.  Innovative assessments provide immediate feedback to support the evaluation of knowledge and acquired skills.
