Eric Heitz is an Engineer 4 on Comcast California Region’s Video Engineering Team and the acting supervisor of the Advanced California Engineering Team primarily responsible for the design, deployment, and operational support of core video services.
He advises and collaborates with headend technicians operating in 21 master headends and provides revenue protection services to Comcast Spotlight (Ad Sales) Operation’s teams who support over 49 digital commercial ad zones in the State.
Eric received a State grant to attend San Jose State University under the Electrical Engineering program and minored in Humanities.  He is a graduate of Comcast’s meritorious Linked2Leadership program, serves as a mentor, and is the region’s subject matter expert for MPEG domain sciences.
He has co-authored a Comcast Enterprise Standard for Video, Encoding, and Multiplexing, led several product developments & field trials for NETO (National Engineering Test Operations), and co-authored Golden Configurations used nationally.  Additionally, he serves as a go-to guy for:  Comcast SportsNet California, Local Area Broadcasters in seven demographic areas, and other MSO's where carriage agreements exist.
He has been with Comcast since 2004, however, prior to Comcast he spent his years in the Silicon Valley as a zealous practitioner of start-up culture and IPO’s.
Eric is also a philanthropist donating his time to the SCTE•ISBE Sierra Chapter as a past President, former Vice-President, and current Board Member of the chapter where he is the architect of the current website and email campaigns.

Outside of work he also serves the community as the Hall Board CFO and Senior Steward of the Roseville Masonic Lodge #222 F&AM where the society’s principle dogma promotes self-improvement and philanthropy toward others. Eric, his wife, and two children live within the Greater Sacramento Area.
