Certification Incentive Program Print E-mail

Eligibility for the incentive program - To be eligible you must:

          

·          Be a Registered SCTE National Member [in good standing].

·          National Status must be maintained during the calendar year you test, and qualify.

·          Reside in the Sierra Chapter’s geographic area. [Any exceptions must be approved by the Board**.]

·          Be an active member of the Sierra Chapter. [Minimum active membership includes attendance and participation in at least 1 chapter technical programs and/or at the Chapter Vendor’s day].

·          Have attained, & maintained active Sierra Chapter membership status during the calendar year you test, and qualify.

 

***Incentives - What you can earn:

An individual may qualify for only one of the following major incentives per calendar year. 

 

  • For Successful completion the certification exams for any one certification:  Reimbursement of test fees (for tests passed only)  National Dues paid for the following year [at time of renewal]  $100.00 Gift Card 
  • For Successful completion of the certification exams for any 3 of the programs will earn:  Reimbursement of test fees (for tests passed only)   National Dues paid for the following year [at time of renewal]  $200.00 Gift Card 
  • For Successful completion of the certification exams for any 5 of the programs will earn  Reimbursement of test fees (for tests passed only)  National Dues paid for the following year [at time of renewal]  $300.00 Gift Card
  • For Successful completion of either the DVEP, DEP, or IPEP certification exams will earn:   Reimbursement of test fees (for tests passed only)  National Dues paid for the following year [at time of renewal]  $300.00 Gift Card 

 

All Certifications will earn recognition in the SCTE News Letter and the SCTE National postings as well as all other benefits listed on the SCTE’s National Website. 

And Finally!    Those individuals successfully completing any one of the (10) exams or any basic certification exam will be automatically entered in a drawing to attend the SCTE’s Annual Northern California Vendor Show and have their Hotel and Meal Expenses Paid!    Many companies offer even more incentives, check with yours. 

 

*This incentive program is solely a product Sierra Chapter. SCTE National, MSO’s, or Vendors are not affiliated with or responsible for this program. 

**Exception requests will be evaluated and resolved by the board (On a case by case basis). The boards’ decision will be the final arbiter. 

***Chapter funding for this program is limited to funds available per calendar year, unless otherwise stated the program ends when the annual fund limit is reached. 

 

The SCTE’s Golden Gate and Central California Chapters also offer a similar incentive program. Please contact those chapters for additional information. 

 

Note: The IRS considers these incentives to be a form of taxable income. As such, they should be reported by the receiving individual as a “gift”.

Course learning objectives:

• Discuss the basic principles used to design and map the coaxial portion of the HFC network.
• Describe the network architectures related to the RF signal distribution.
